Edition of 25. Four color screen print on fabric hand-dyed by the artist using batik, a wax-resist technique, backed with French Construction Pure White 100#C
signed and editioned by the artist on the reverse. 2022.

Due to the nature of the process of batik, the dyed crackle effect will vary from print to print. The texture on the print you receive may differ from the one shown here.

About
For this print series, Addoley used the wax-resist technique, batik, to dye the background cloth of each print before Flash Flood printed a halftone image of various wax print fabrics from Addoley's collection. Here, wax prints made in the Netherlands, Ghana, and China, but all found in Makola Market in Accra, Ghana, sit side by side.

About
The design for this limited edition print was inspired by the wax print fabric, 6 Bougies. In the place of spark plugs as a mark of prestige, Dzegede’s design incorporates two aspects of St Louis's history: music and the ice cream cone (which was invented at the 1904 World's Fair).

Limited edition print created by artist Addoley Dzegede for Art Up Late: Louie, Louie, the after-hours party at CAM on June 15, 2018, inspired by the Great Rivers Biennial.
